P&JF When we set up Cowley Manor and C.Side Spa, we developed our own products for use in the treatments and within the hotel’s bathrooms. We soon wanted to expand the range and mulled on it for several years before coming up with Green & Spring. Rather than a single moment, it was a longer process of consideration and growth. Sublime What makes Green & Spring a fabulous, different spa range?
P&JF It’s all about celebrating the fantastic British countryside. We use ingredients that are native to the British Isles, and have been used traditionally for centuries to promote relaxation, revitalisation and indulgence. The range is handmade for us in rural Somerset – it is a very British brand!

Sublime Were there non-negotiables for you when you were developing the products?
P&JF We wanted the range to be 100% natural, with natural preservatives and fragrances. We chose our manufacturer on the basis of their shared passion for this goal. We also had strong views about the visual identity of Green & Spring – and, of course, the attention to detail.

Sublime Are you ‘English Eccentrics’? If so, how is that reflected in the Green & Spring range?
P&JF Definitely proud to be British. We love British design – we commissioned young British designers at Cowley Manor, to design our fabrics, furniture and spa. We love the British countryside, especially the Cotswolds, and we wanted to celebrate that through the beautiful birds we use on each of the Green & Spring products, all of which are native to the British Isles.

Sublime The launch of your range is perfect timing, with more people holidaying in the UK this year. Describe the lovely things a visitor can expect from the C.Side Spa at Cowley Manor.
P&JF A mini-break at Cowley Manor is a perfect way to relax and recharge. All our treatments are unique to C.Side, and have been designed by leading aromatherapist Michelle Roques O’Neill. Our all-over Cloud 9 signature treatment especially relaxes you into a state of bliss. Swimming in either of our beautiful pools can be totally refreshing, especially after a stroll around the gardens and lakes, where you can see natural springs bubbling. Cowley is a very ‘earthy’ place, where a stunning natural setting, wonderful buildings and the springs all blend together perfectly.
